The Inaugural Greenvale Writing Retreat, 2026
When: during July & August 2026
Who? Anyone can apply, regardless of experience or status of manuscript. We are looking for writers who need a place to work that is inspiring, comfortable, collegial
What is provided: Free accommodation (approximate value $8650 NZD), all facilities, high-speed wifi, transfers to flights or ferry, bottomless tea or coffee
What you contribute: Meals are not provided - writers will be expected to share in meal costs, preparation and household chores; bring a good attitude and sense of adventure; be generous with collegial support to other writers; koha (donation) to cover household running expenses (electricity, heating, wifi).
What is excluded? Travel costs to get to the island, travel / medical insurance, food, alcohol, sundries
The fine print:
Greenvale Bed and Breakfast is a special place - it is a non-smoking / vaping property.
Selection criteria - if you are interested in applying for the 2026 retreat please submit one to two paragraphs about how you would use your time on the island. Applications will be assessed early in the New Year and successful writers notified. Submit your application to this email address.
Writers should be able, and prepared, to come to the island for a block of time (7 - 14 days), the actual dates will be negotiated with successful candidates and will occur during July and August 2026
